Kindergartens in Ventspils

Kindergartens "Saulīte" and "Vāverīte" in Ventspils. Design competitions for two pre-school educational institutions in Ventspils "VĀVERĪTE" and "SAULĪTE" envisage the design of a new extension and partial reconstruction of the existing premises. Both kindergartens are typical Soviet-era projects, for which the same requirements have been set for the new extension - additional group and administrative premises, as well as a new assembly hall. The new volume is two-storey, one-piece, compact, with a slight increase in the middle part of the volume (in the place intended for the assembly hall), which would allow compliance with the parameters of low-energy buildings, ie heat consumption during the heating period would not exceed 30 kWh / m²2.
